§ 22-1. Establishment; membership; terms of office; vacancies.

Under the provisions of Article 13, §§ 240 through 246, of the General Municipal Law of New York State, there is hereby established a Recreation Commission. This Commission shall consist of five or seven persons serving without pay, who shall be appointed by the Board. The term of office shall be for five years or until their successors are appointed and qualified, except that the members of such Commission first appointed shall be appointed for such terms that the term of one member shall expire annually thereafter. Vacancies in such Commission occurring otherwise than by expiration of term shall be filled by the Mayor for the unexpired term.
